ThunderRidge - your Sterling Ranch high school

Updated: Feb 12, 2018

Given the projected size of Sterling Ranch in the future, Douglas County Schools is already anticipating building a high school in Sterling Ranch (along with 2 middle schools and 5 elementary schools). Until then, Sterling Ranch children feed into ThunderRidge High School, which is about 10 minutes east of Sterling Ranch.

If you don't know much about ThunderRidge, here's some information. ThunderRidge is a large (2,080 students), well-respected, suburban high school that offers Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, ProStart, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and ACC College Dual Enrollment.

I'm a bit of numbers geek, so here's some data on the school and the students. I think this tells much of the Grizzlies' story, and it's obviously a positive story:

ThunderRidge also boasts some of the best high school athletic programs in Douglas County. My husband was quick to point out that he competed against ThunderRidge long, long ago when he was a high school student in south Denver and that ThunderRidge was always extremely competitive. The school's official Twitter feed gives you a flair for how involved the children and community are in ThunderRidge's athletic programs: https://twitter.com/tridgegrizzlies?lang=en

I'll write more about ThunderRidge in the future, but I wanted to give everyone in Sterling Ranch a quick snapshot of your feeder high school, and let you know life is good as a Grizzly!
