Hi Sterling Ranch Friends!
As some of you know, especially if you’ve been to Sterling Ranch in the past few weeks, the steel infrastructure of the Sterling Center is starting to rise. Elevator shafts and stairwells are now visible from the street, and pipes and other construction materials are on-site, ready for installation in the coming weeks. The Mortensen-designed civic center is getting closer to completion.
The Sterling Center is scheduled to open in late 2018, and though builders won’t always publicly commit to completion dates given potential winter weather issues, supply and labor logistical issues, and so on, it appears construction is moving along well. The 20,000 civic center building will house UCHealth Urgent Care, Siemens, the Sterling Ranch Community Authority Board, and more. There’s also a second extension that will include a 3,400 square foot exhibit hall, housing a number of collaborative educational features. The Sterling Center’s hyperlocal, thoughtful plans even include landscaping designed with the Denver Botanic Gardens.
What’s most exciting for me is to see this $9.3 million building going up at the same time as my clients’ homes. It’s somewhat rare for a new community to have world-class amenities like UCHealth – the University of Colorado’s hospital system - within a year or so of the community’s grand opening – but it’s happening – and it’s a short walk down the street for new Sterling Ranch residents.
